Our conference will be held on the grounds of West Point in the historic Thayer Hotel. We
have invited LTG Eric B. Schoomaker, Surgeon General of U. S. Army, to be our Keynote Speaker and are awaiting his reply. The Medical Director of the Academy, Col. Michael A. Deaton, has accepted our invitation to attend. Society members are working on a 3-4 hour tour of the Academy for Saturday afternoon to include the
cemetery, museum, and Visitor’s Center.

Due to weather conditions the event has been POSTPONED til APRIL 10 & 11 instead of the original March date. The Waynesboro Heritage Museum is hosting the 145th Anniversary Battle of Waynesboro, to be held in historic Augusta County, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Saturday battle will recreate the last battle fought by General Early in the Shenandoah Valley on the outskirts of the city of Waynesboro against General Custer's cavalry. Sunday battle to simulate the actions of Major William Patrick's 17th Va Btn of Cavalry against Poe's 2nd Michigan in Jackson's rear at 2nd Manassas. Major Patrick is buried in a family cemetery on the property to be used for this event. Weekend will also feature memorial services for Confederate dead buried in Waynesboro, and a graveside memorial and Iron Cross dedication at Major Patrick's grave. Pre-registered participants will receive tickets for the Reenactor Raffle which will award a prize for each branch represented (more info on website as details are worked out), and will be included in Mail Calls throughout the weekend. The Col. W. P. Rogers Camp # 321 Sons of Confederate Veterans is again organizing the 16th Annual two-day event to commemorate Confederate Memorial Day and the sacrifices made by our ancestors. We would like for you and your fellow compatriots to join with us in these weekend activities. You will get to camp on the grounds of the Historic Verandah-Curlee House in historic downtown Corinth; Ms. There will be an opportunity to skirmish on some of the same land where the actual fighting took place in October 1862. You will get to experience this fighting in the same place it took place in the Battle of Corinth. We will furnish firewood, water, and supper Saturday evening. For the public there will be period music, a large display of confederate flags, vendors selling civil war items, and a large civil war relic display. A Memorial service at historic Battery Robinette on Sunday honoring our Confederate ancestors will highlight the weekend. We need for you to help us honor and pay respect to all the Confederate soldiers who fought and died for the cause that they believed in. All activities are free to all attendees and participants.
