Don't Miss The most Authentic Civil War Reenactment West of the Rockies!
The location of our event is Longs’ Mariposa Ranch, in historical Mariposa, CA, just outside of Yosemite National Park and on the actual location of the Las Mariposas Land Grant; once home to ohn Charles Fremont and his family.
Friday April 16th, is a no cost Education Day dedicated solely to registered schools, complete with educational stations for Civil War Presentations for all attending students. There will also be a battle reenactment on Friday complete with tactical foot and horse skirmishes and cannon fire
Saturday and Sunday are both jammed full of events including two battles each day, AND a twilight battle on Saturday night. Throughout both days there will be a multitude of other events happening at the camps which the public are invited to attend and observe. Experience first hand a medical station, a blacksmith, a civilian town, cooking and sewing, and other aspects of life during this historical period.
Don't miss hearing Abraham Lincoln recite the Gettysburg Address or Jefferson Davis as he dispels the rumors from the Federal Camp. Listen to Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and Clara Barton describe their lives and what it was like to be a slave.

reenactment of the Jones-Imboden Raid in Rowlesburg, WV, when General W.E. "Grumble" Jones led an attack on the town to destroy the vital B & O railroad bridge and the famous Tray Run Viaduct. Union forces under the command of General Charles Hill defended the town with 250 soldiers and townsmen. Union forces were outnumbered 1500 to 250 but were successful in turning back "Jones' Raiders" and preserving "Lincoln's Lifeline".
Union and Confederate camps will be represented and a weekend full of activities will be presented, along with reenactments of the Battle of Greenland Gap and the Battle of Rowlesburg.

Sponsored by the Geauga County Historical Society, a 2-day reenactment transforms this beautiful Western Reserve historical village into an 1864 Union & Confederate camp. On the Century Village Museum grounds stands the Hitchock House, where Civil War soldiers Charles, Peter & Ruben Hitchock served during the Civil War. There will be live battles on both days of the festival between the north and west, including cannons. A Civil War Ball on Saturday evening with Abraham Lincoln leading the procession. Women dress in their finest ball gowns and the soldiers in dress uniforms. The reenactment becomes a history lesson to children of all ages. |

Come and join us for the 8th annual Civil War weekend, at East Harbor State Park, on the shores of Lake Erie, in the Sandusky region of Ohio. This is a resort area, and has many attractions, for both young and old, including Cedar Point, wineries, aqua parks etc. The park has a swimming beach, and full amenities, with hot showers and regular bathrooms. This year we will be focusing on the start of the 150th. anniversary of the conflict, and thus will concentrate on the momentous happenings of 1861. To that end, we will have a bombardment of " Fort Sumter", and the battles will be 1st. Manassass/Bull Run. Dinner will be served to all participants, and there will be a dance on Saturday evening. Ice, firewood and straw will be available. More content will be added as the event draws closer. |
