The Battle of Pilot Knob will be held on September 27 & 28, 2014 during the civil war sesquicentennial. Friends of Fort Davidson, is now actively seeking and will accept applications for the eventís food vendors, craft vendors and Civil War sutlers.
Every third year a full-scale reenactment of the Battle of Pilot Knob is staged, attracting tens of thousands of spectators to the Valley. Be sure to make your plans to attend the next re-enactment scheduled during the Missouri Civil War 150th anniversary commemorations. We suggest that you make your lodging reservations very early for the reenactments. Now, would not be too soon to secure your reservations.

One of the yearly highlights of the Remembrance Day weekend is the Civil War Lady Remembrance Day Military Ball on Friday evening of Remembrance Day weekend! Held at the spacious Eisenhower Inn Conference Center, the delightful music of Beck's Philadelphia Brass Band will provide authentic Civil War Era Dance Music. Under the instruction of the renown Dance callers "Victorian Dance Ensemble" who have performed for the Inaugural Ball in Washington DC, dances are taught to all during the ball. This ball is ideal for beginners to well seasoned dancers and your group, unit and organization is welcomed to attend - we offer ample seating for all. The spacious Ballroom of the Eisenhower Grand Ballroom affords plenty of space for Victorian dancing!
Light refreshments are served, however a lounge is adjacent to the ballroom for guests. A portrait photographer for your convenience with portraits to take home that evening. We also offer a guest room rate of $129.00 for our ball ticket holders, a great room rate during the busy weekend that will host nearly 10,000 reenactors in Gettysburg - you must be a ticket holder and rooms must be booked early.

Folks love history when we make it interesting, let us help you, help them to learn. This event is a unique way to experience the grandeur and passion of the Victorian era versus the harsh reality of the war bought between States and Brothers. It is a way for families to experience a simpler time long gone, along with some of the misery of our countryís history and to learn from those reenacting the lessons learned from this chapter of American History.
Liendo Plantation near Hempstead, was built in 1853 and during the war Liendo hosted cavalry and infantry training camps, an interment camp and hospital. For a brief time after the war it served as headquarters for General George Armstrong Custer. Tours are ongoing during the day.
There will be several camps to visit and ask questions of the soldiers and civilians. Join in some of the demonstrations in the different camps and canon fire on the battlefield. Period demonstrations throughout the lawn such as, spinning, quilting, blacksmith, music, medical, leather making and fashion show, etc.
There will be modern food vendors for meals. There will also be a skirmish on the battlefield around noon on Fri and 2 PM Sat & Sun.
